with Cor Karoli [Tristan de Liege & Karolina Kalo] and Daniel Weidlein
Please silence your phone and alarms, we are recording
Welcome to Open House! This is a reverent space to rest & reset, bring your meditative practice, and connect to yourself under a crafted journey from practiced artists.
This performance is fully improvised as a devotional practice of trust, play, and presence. We invite you, the listener, to join us into the unknown – what will you hear, see, discover?
How to engage:
This is an oasis for your imagination and reflection, away from the responsibilities of work, family, and communal crises. From this resting place, we can heal, re-fuel, re-imagine, and re-enter our lives with perspective, focus and openness.
You’re invited to rest, to sound-bathe, to journal – whatever feels best. Just be reverent of the space and those around you, so as not to distract another’s experience. And feel free to nudge your neighbor if they snore ;)
About our artists & facilitators:
Ty Rex (host) is a pianist and artist whose improvisations are the inner-workings of a recovering devotee. Born into a religious community and dedicated to spiritual music as a child, Ty Rex didn’t record solo work until Rumors of War (2020), a coming-of-age grappling with a livelihood lost to religious fundamentalism. In 2024, he released 'Movement: Demos from Rigidity and Recovery', reflecting a journey guided by the wisdom of nature, the elements, lunar cycles, and non-duality, debuted with an art exhibition in 2024.
Ty Rex’s style is deeply influenced by cinematic music, a childhood passion that turned into an early career as an assistant composer on dozens of TV series and films. Yet today, his primary goal is facilitating transformative listening experiences, both in private therapeutic settings and public gatherings, as well as helping musicians connect to their instruments as a meditative practice.

Daniel Weidlein (co-host, saxophone) is a dynamic and genre-fluid music producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist whose passion for music began at age 11 when he first experimented with recording on the family iMac. With formal training in classical piano, jazz saxophone (BM, USC Thornton School of Music), and composition, he brings a deep musical foundation to every project. Inspired by visionaries like Quincy Jones and Blake Mills, Daniel has collaborated with a diverse range of artists, from pop singer Blake McGrath to jazz saxophonist Bob Mintzer, classical soprano Julie Craig, and funk/soul artist Stan Taylor. His keen musical instincts, technical expertise, and genre-spanning versatility allow him to craft compelling and authentic soundscapes that elevate an artist’s unique voice.
A sought-after vocal producer, Daniel brings his own experience as a vocal bass and backing singer (NBC’s The Sing-Off, Steve Harvey Show, Late Late Show with James Corden) into the studio, creating an environment that encourages playfulness, emotional depth, and artistic freedom. His ability to guide singers with empathy and precision has made him a trusted collaborator for vocalists such as Luke Edgemon (Christina Aguilera, Lady Gaga, Nick Jonas), Kirstin Maldonado (Pentatonix), and Cheyenne Jackson (30 Rock, GLEE). Whether arranging for orchestras, scoring for film and musical theater, or shaping the intricate details of a song’s production, Daniel’s approach is always rooted in musicality, storytelling, and a deep respect for the artist’s creative vision.

Cor Karoli is a musical duo composed of classical concert pianist Karolina Kalo and
electronic artist Tristan de Liège. Their sound weaves together neo-classical and ambient
piano with electronic textures, creating a genre-defying experience. Rooted in the art of
deep listening, their music invites their audiences on a reflective journey. By blending
seemingly distant musical styles, Cor Karoli crafts a sophisticated dialogue between
tradition and innovation.
Tristan de Liège is a Belgian electronic/downtempo artist currently based in Los Angeles,
California. de Liège's work expresses the feelings of nostalgia and wistful exhilaration from
exploring new places and rediscovering old ones. He aims to seek beyond genre to find
the common ground of texture and space in music, while taking cues and inspiration from
as many sources as possible, from jazz to classical to West African folk music and
Indonesian gamelan.
He also writes and produces as Thoma alongside Benjamin Hill (Cuervo Cuervo), a project
centered around interactions between synths, sequencers, and live percussion
instruments.
Tristan has completed 10 solo albums: Searching, Refractions, Usawa, Maisha, Kosame,
The Diver, Everything We Are, Tamalpais, Into the Bloom, and Frontiers, each with their
own feel, inspirations, and cast of guest musicians.
The neoclassical experiments that Tristan explored with his Tethys project have continued
into 2021 with a collaborative album with violinist Gregory Allison, entitled A Light for Dark
Moments on Allison’s Holy Volcano label.
Thoma returned with new material in late 2021, Ikiru, which showcases cinematic strings
and woodwinds arrangements. In 2023 they released "Pictures of Infinity," a playful album
serving as a tribute to their childhood memories in Oklahoma.
